Linking the European Structural and Investment Funds with Health and Wellbeing

A joint blog post on how ESIF can bring together the NHS and the VCSE sector to improve health and wellbeing.

There are strong links between the priorities of the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) and the key themes of the VCSE Review on the role of the sector in improving health, wellbeing and care outcomes.

Sandra Turner from the European Funding Network, NCVO, and Michael Wood from the NHS European Office have jointly explored these links in their blog post, focusing on the social and economic importance of improving health and well-being outcomes for excluded groups, the need for partnership working at the local level, the role of the VCSE sector in reaching and supporting those most at disadvantage and how the NHS should optimise the involvement of the VCSE sector.
