European Social Fund Community Grants - North East

The European Social Fund and the Skills Funding Agency are awarding community grants to voluntary organisations. There are no match funding requirements.

Within this £15,000 limit, groups may also apply for support costs to help with Capacity Building their organisation. Capacity Building Grants are not expected to exceed £1,500 except in exceptional cases

Round 4 of the ESF Community grants is now open.

ESF Community grants will support groups undertaking activities including help with basic skills, work experience, training advice and guidance, job search assistance, confidence building, personal development and support to overcome barriers to training and employment.

Target Groups

The target groups are those individuals who are eligible beneficiaries of ESF Priority 1 funding in the region. This includes unemployed people and economically inactive people aged 19 years and over who are from the hardest to reach communities and who have difficulty accessing mainstream provision and/or ESF. Within this target group, participation of the following groups should be prioritised:

• People with disabilities and health conditions 
• Lone parents 
• People aged 50 or over 
• People from ethnic minorities

As all projects must be complete by 30th June 2015, projects for Round 4 must be no longer than 7 months.
