Sixth Cohesion Forum Investment for jobs and growth: Promoting development and good governance in EU regions and cities
The main goal is to discuss how the next generation of Cohesion Policy programmes which will be launched in 2014 can contribute to the recovery of the European economy.
With a budget of more than EUR 350 billion, Cohesion Policy can play a key role in supporting growth-enhancing and job-creating investments in 2014-20.To maximise the impact of these investments, Cohesion Policy has undergone a far-reaching reform. The reform aims at concentrating resources on key growth sectors in line with the Europe 2020 strategy and firmly linking the policy to the European semester and the economic governance procedures of the Union. It also aims at increasing its effectiveness through greater result orientation and by putting in place appropriate framework conditions for investment.
The Cohesion Forum is a unique opportunity to discuss with all stakeholders how EU policies can improve the living conditions and opportunities for all European citizens in the years to come.
There will be keynote speeches from, amongst others, the European Commissioner for Regional Policy, President of the European Parliament, and President of the European Council.
There will also be thematic workshops on improving performance, governance and partnerships.
