About this event

This event should help you to judge whether EU funding might be right for your organisation and work out what to do next. It is for voluntary and community organisations only but is open to any organisation operating in Plymouth, Devon, Torbay or Somerset.

A new round of EU funding is getting underway and voluntary and community groups will soon have the opportunity to bid for contracts or apply for funds. But the system has changed since previous programmes.

The Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership now has the lead role in agreeing the priorities for EU funding and the Big Lottery Fund is providing matched funding for social inclusion related activity as an “opt-in” provider. It’s complicated and there is still a lot that is not nailed down. But this event is designed to bring you up to date, find out the likely priorities for funding, learn about the application process Big Lottery Fund expects to use and get a handle on the likely timing of key decisions and funding “calls”.

By the time of the event the focus of the Big Lottery Fund “calls” for applications under their Building Better Opportunities programme should be clear. So this is an important opportunity to get the very latest information on this important source of funding. Please note that at present there are expected to be two calls – one focussing on supporting young people into employment and one focussing on supporting adults furthest from the labour market.
